On another note, last week I got some feedback on my previous post (Asset Creation Continued…) and made some minor changes in accordance. Following my first two posts, some viewers requested some more detailed updates and so I had made the Asset Creation Continued post a bit longer. Well, now people are saying that it’s too much so I’ll be aiming for a happy medium in the future. I’ll also be adding the ‘Read More’ button to the longer posts so the page isn’t as much of a wall of Text. Lastly, I’ve received some advice to make posts more frequently so instead of posting updates monthly, I’ll be aiming to bring it down to weekly. So check back often!
Anywho, as far as actual game development goes, this week I’ve continued working on the Northern Conduit character by creating the UV maps, texturing, and experimenting with both humanoid and generic rigs. I did eventually get the humanoid rig operational but wasn’t happy with how the animations were performing so I ended up going with a generic rig. Unfortunately for me, this means I’ll have to make all the animations for him from scratch but that’s alright. Here’s a look at his applied textures, let me know what you think!
